Jason Taylor: Miami Dolphins > New York Jets

Jason Taylor is not only a Hall-of-Famer but he’s also one of the greatest Miami Dolphins of all time. His overall tenure as a member of the Miami Dolphins would include:

  • 204 games played across 13 seasons
  • Eight interceptions
  • Nine total touchdowns
  • 43 forced fumbles
  • 131 sacks
  • 723 tackles
  • 56 QB hits
  • 2 safeties

He is the epitome of a Hall-of-Fame defensive end and will live on in Miami Dolphins fans’ hearts and minds forever.

And yet, the end of his career would involve him being traded to Washington, re-signing with Miami, moving on from Miami, signing with the NY Jets, and then re-signing with Miami. I’m exhausted just writing that.

Going from the Miami Dolphins to the New York Jets was incredibly unpopular with fans, but in the end, it didn’t have the meaningful or memorable impact fans thought it would.

In his lone season with the Jets, Taylor would start just five games with 36 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles (both recovered). He would be cut after the season and would re-sign with Miami. Again, thankfully.
