Poles adds more help for Fields by selecting Matt Landers. In addition to having an athletic wide receiver, he adds one with speed. Landers recorded a 4.37-40 at the NFL Combine. Moreover, he has a good size at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds.

Landers uses his long strides to build up speed. That makes him a threat of a big play. In the past two seasons, he averaged 21.1 yards per reception.

One of the problems that Chicago Bears receivers had last season was their inability to create separation on their routes. As a result, Fields did not have a lot of confidence to make throws and feel that his receivers would make plays. Landers has very good footwork and body control that gives him the ability to create separation.

Additionally, Landers won’t let defenders bully him. On the outside release, he does a good job of using his offhand to battle the cornerback without drawing a penalty.

Landers does a good job of tracking the ball and getting in position to make the catch. In addition, he has the leaping ability to just outjump the defender on a contested throw.

Landers can be a great deep threat. Also, he can utilize his speed to make big plays on special teams. He could be a steal at this spot.
