5 NFL teams that have gotten worse in 2023 NFL Free Agency
1. Green Bay Packers
Nothing is official quite yet, but the writing is on the wall for the Green Bay Packers at this point, isn’t it? Aaron Rodgers is poised to join the New York Jets at some point in the next month. Jordan Love is finally going to be taking over the QB position for the Packers in his fourth NFL season, and I just don’t know how to really feel about that.
The Packers took a step back with Rodgers on the roster last year, so what’s going to happen to this team after he leaves? For decades, Packers fans have really only ever known elite quarterback play. The Brett Favre era transitioned right into the Aaron Rodgers era, and the Packers have just had an almost unprecedented stretch of elite level play at that position.
Now, as we look to the 2023 season, what is Jordan Love going to bring to the table? How much are the Packers going to be able to lean on the defense and the running game? Have Matt LaFleur and his staff done an adequate job of getting Love ready for this moment?
We’re going to find out a lot about this Packers roster going forward. We’re going to be able to see clearly over the next season just how impactful it is that Green Bay hasn’t done a good enough job of adding to the WR and TE positions.
How many flaws did Aaron Rodgers mask for this team?
Who knows — there might be a chance the Packers trade Rodgers and come out in 2023 like the Seattle Seahawks with an absolute vengeance. I wouldn’t bank on it, personally.
