Upgrade the offensive line

One of the areas of most concern for the past decade or so has been the play of the offensive line. Season after season the biggest letdown is the offensive line.

Poles was an offensive lineman when he played so he understands how important that unit is. He was notably quiet when free agency started, however. The only signing he made was guard Nate Davis.

The Davis signing was a peculiar one since many experts felt that the right tackle spot was of major concern.

Without taking a tackle via free agency, Poles can find a good one here at nine. Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones could be available there.

Both players are instant starters and can play on either side. This could be what Poles is looking to do. He solidifies the interior of the line with the Davis signing. The coaches like Braxton Jones so he will continue to grow. The question is whether the coaching staff feels that he is better on one side or the other.

Adding Jones or Johnson solidifies the tackle spot. Combining either one with Davis and some of the returning players and the offensive line could become a strength.
