Trade the pick for additional picks this year and in the future

Poles has stated on a number of occasions that this would be a multi-year rebuild. With that in mind, he could trade the ninth pick. Last year, he turned five picks into 11 of them.

Having traded away the top overall pick, Poles added a pick for this year and an extra pick next year and the following year. That is setting up a good position to rebuild well. They will have two first-round picks next year. That gives Poles a lot of flexibility to work with.

If Poles trades the ninth pick, he can pick add a first-round pick for next year. Imagine what he can do with three picks among the first 32. Furthermore, he will pick up some more picks in this year’s draft. He can trade down and still find good talent and more of them.

Next. Building a starting defense with the remaining free agents. dark

Poles has a big decision to make with the ninth pick. This is what he wanted, however. He wanted to be in a position to make impactful decisions in this draft. This is why he sacrificed the 2022 season. Let’s see what he does. Hopefully, we look back at this time and see that it was the start of a new era of winning for the Chicago Bears.
