It’s hard to argue that if Joey Porter Jr. is still available at the 16th pick for the Washington Commanders that he won’t be picked. The son of former NFL star Joey Porter has made a name for himself at Penn State.

The shutdown corner had 21 solo tackles this season and 40 the year before. He also had eight passes defended too. At 6-foot-2 corner with a 4.46 40-yard-dash time, he has the ideal frame and speed for the position.

In Reid’s mock draft, he has the Commanders taking the Penn State product in the first round citing Washington’s thin depth at the corner being the reason why. Reid also believes Porter can start immediately for D.C.’s franchise.

It should be noted that if Porter is drafted, he’d be joining veteran Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste. Fuller is above average starter and St-Juste is still developing but has shown potential. Adding Porter would give Washinton a strong core at the position moving forward.
