218. Mohamed Ibrahim, RB, Minnesota

Pick Analysis. Minnesota. Mohamed Ibrahim. 852. Scouting Report. RB. 218. player

One might think that with the signings of D’Onta Foreman and Travis Homer, the Chicago Bears do not have a need at running back. However, they have Trestan Ebner another backup.

When Ebner had the opportunity to fill in with injuries to David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert, he struggled. That might give the team a red flag.

Mohamed Ibrahim can come in and battle Ebner for a spot. He isn’t a speed burner but is a tough runner. Additionally, his decisiveness is incredible. He is patient and waits for holes to develop but he does not hesitate when he sees them.

Despite not having that elite speed, he had 4,668 rushing yards and averaged 5.4 yards per run in his career. Also, he is a magnet for the end zone.  He had 53 total touchdowns at Minnesota, 20 of them in 2022.

At 5-foot-8, 203 pounds, Ibrahim has a compact frame and a low center of gravity. That allows him to bounce off defenders or make moves to avoid them.

That, combined with his toughness, will make him a great option in short-yardage situations. When the ball is inside the five, or when the offense needs critical yards to extend a drive, FIelds has more options. He has better wide receivers, more tight end targets, and a better line. He can throw it, run it himself, or hand it off to Ibrahim and be confident that whatever he decides could succeed.
