It’s not often that one move changes the balance of power in a conference, but that is exactly what Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets does. A Hall of Fame quarterback, still operating at a very high level makes any team better, especially an exciting young team littered with explosive weapons.

The New York Jets ranked in the top 5 in most defensive categories in 2022. They were 4th in points allowed and 3rd in getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Jets are more than capable on the defensive side of the ball and with head coach Robert Salah calling the plays, they will continue to be a thorn in the side of most offenses.

Aaron Rodgers made it clear that the Jets were his preferred destination, and it was easy to see why. In free agency, Gang Green added wide receivers Mecole Hardman and Allen Lazard to offensive rookie of the year Garrett Wilson. Lazard spent five years in Green Bay catching the ball from Rodgers before coming to New York. Tight ends Tyler Conklin and CJ Uzomah are also reliable targets for Rodgers.

As well as the receiving options, Rodgers will be handing the ball off to Breece Hall who had his rookie season cut short due to injury. Hall managed 681 yards from scrimmage and five total touchdowns in just seven games before he was done for the year. Hall is electric and has the ability to take it to the house on any play.

Aaron Rodgers has never had this complement of weapons. The four-time MVP will relish the opportunity to pursue another championship and the Jets are instantly among the front runners in the AFC.

That defense, coupled with those offensive weapons and now Aaron Rodgers will pose a problem for every team in the NFL. The New York Jets have no obvious weakness in their team. They didn’t just add a decent quarterback to an already good team, they added one of the best ever and will almost certainly be aiming for a Super Bowl.
