2023 NFL mock draft: Lions dominate 3-round predictions; Will Levis rises
9. Chicago Bears: Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State
The Chicago Bears put a hefty amount of confidence behind Justin Fields this offseason, trading the no. 1 overall pick and their shot at any QB in this draft class. There’s nothing wrong with that, so long as it works out, right? The Bears definitely need it to work out after they lost a whopping 14 games last season. Fields took some steps forward, the Bears invested in talent already, and now they need to fortify the offensive line. Build a wall around fields. Paris Johnson Jr. seems as likely as anyone to be picked in this slot, but Bears fans should riot if it’s not a lineman.
10. Philadelphia Eagles: Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia
The Philadelphia Eagles begin to reload their roster after making it to the Super Bowl last season by adding one of the top defensive players in college football over the last couple of years. Philly went after a couple of Georgia Bulldogs in the 2022 NFL Draft when they landed Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean for their defensive front seven, why not add another? Imagine trying to mount a fourth quarter comeback with players like Nolan Smith and Haason Reddick bearing down on your QB.
