2. Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

Since 2000, 24 tight ends have been drafted in the first round, the most recent being Kyle Pitts in 2021. Bowers could be No. 25 after next season. Since High school, Bowers has been a star, being rated as a four-star recruit and the 105th player in the nation by 247-sports. His talent carried over when he first stepped foot in Athens, Georgia.

In his first season as a true freshman, Bowers’s stats consisted had 882 yards and 13 touchdowns. Ending the season as the leading receiver in yards and touchdowns for a Georgia team that won the national championship, earning SEC Freshman of the Year.

His sophomore season was similar to his freshman season, catching 63 passes for 942 yards and 7 touchdowns. Once again, he led the Bulldogs in receiving yards en route to another national championship. Bowers won the John Mackey Award given to college football’s most outstanding tight end – in addition, Bowers was also named to the All-SEC first team.

All the numbers and awards are excellent, but his ability to do what he does on the field makes him a projected 1st-round pick. Bowers has soft hands to accompany his great catch radius; both help him get yards after the catch. In addition, Bowers is the complete package with his ability to block and chip defenders.

There should be no doubt in any fan’s mind that in next year’s NFL draft, Brock Bowers will hear his name called in the 1st-round.
