Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings finished 13-4 in 2022 and were the third seed in the NFC. 11 of those 13 wins were by one score. The question everyone had was are they a good team down the stretch or just lucky?

A bit of both, but definitely more so them being a good team that was very well organized by rookie head coach Kevin O’Connell. The Vikings were amazing situationally last season, their management at the end of halves improved significantly as opposed to previous years.

The Vikings won 13 games even with their defense ranking 31st overall. It was their offense led by Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson that willed them to the NFC North crown. That offense just got a whole lot better with the addition of wide receiver Jordan Addison. Adding him to a pass-catching group that already boats Jefferson, KJ Osborn, and tight end TJ Hockenson will be a nightmare for any defense to try to match up against.

Third-round cornerback Mekhi Blackman could turn out to be the steal of the draft. Coming into the offseason, the cornerback position was a real need for the Vikings and if Blackman can improve on the talent he showed at USC, there could be a real gem in Minnesota.

The Vikings only had five picks heading into the 2023 NFL draft, but their first two selections could be the difference makers next season.
