Now that the NFL draft is behind us, it’s time for the next wave of player recruitment. The XFL season is coming to an end but teams in the NFL have already begun poaching some of their top talents in the hopes of signing them before the start of the upcoming season.

Every so often, the XFL produces some gems that can fit seamlessly into an NFL roster. While rookies are getting ready for life at the highest level, a few standout players will be looking to show that they also deserve an opportunity.

The XFL is a melting pot of diverse talent; between the ex-NFL players who weren’t ready for the big stage at the time, the international talent who couldn’t find their way to the NFL, and the players who went undrafted in the NFL draft, you suddenly find yourself with an array of exciting players that can help supplement an NFL roster or even be a key piece for a team making a playoff push.

With the XFL championship game on the horizon, a lot of NFL teams will be on standby looking to cherry-pick some of the best players in the league. Quarterback PJ Walker led the XFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns in 2020 before the league was stopped due to COVID, the Carolina Panthers picked him up, and went on to start seven games for them.

Wide receiver Jahcour Pearson led the XFL in receptions and receiving yards in 2023 and was invited by the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts to try out at camp. Pearson is just one of many talented young players that will be trying out for their opportunity to get on an active NFL roster.

A few players will want to get back to the NFL after things didn’t go so well the first time, but a lot will be aiming to make an impact for the first time, don’t be surprised to see a player signing for an NFL team be being a productive member of the squad.
