Noah Sewell — The rookie looking to make a name for himself

Noah Sewell was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of this year’s draft. He brings an explosive presence that’s hard to ignore.

The younger brother of Penei Sewell, an established NFL player himself for the Detroit Lions, Sewell is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound powerhouse, who demonstrated his dominance in college with an impressive 76 tackles, 3 sacks, and an interception in his final year. His physicality and potential make him a serious contender for the starting spot.

Sewell fits head coach Matt Eberflus’ HITS principle. He plays with a hard motor, plays with intensity, can help generate takeaways, and is a smart player. He adds athleticism to the defense, something that both Poles and Eberflus insist on having.

Sewell is a player who works hard and has a versatile skill set. He does a good job at stopping the run. That was an area that the Chicago Bears’ defense struggled with that in 2022. They ranked 31st in rushing yards allowed and dead last in rushing touchdowns allowed.

Sewell wants to change that. He felt he should have been drafted so he will play with a chip on his shoulder. He will want to prove his doubters wrong and help bring back the ferocious Chicago Bears defense.
