With a busy offseason comes renewed hope that the Chicago Bears can improve this season. In order to do so, some players have to have breakout seasons. Here are five of them.

As the Chicago Bears enter Phase II of the offseason, there is a lot of hope. General manager Ryan Poles was busy overhauling the roster. He infused a lot of talent and added depth around the roster. This is now a team that could not only be competitive but also win some games.

While there is still a chance that a player or two could be added, the attention now turns to getting the most out of the players. The pressure turns to head coach Matt Eberflus and his coaching staff.

Last season, despite all of the losses (they currently own a 10-game losing streak), the Bears were competitive. They had eight one-score games. The Bears lost seven of them. Additionally, there were three games that were within one score in the final quarter that they lost.

It was amazing that the Bears were able to stay in those games with the lack of talent on the roster. Hopefully, with a lot more talent on the team, Chicago can convert a few of those losses into victories.

In addition to the coaching staff doing its job, some key players also have to take a big step forward. They have to lead with their play and have big seasons.

There are always some players who have breakout seasons when teams have successful seasons.

Of course, the idea of success is fluid. What is successful for the Philadelphia Eagles, let’s say, will be much different than what success means for the Chicago Bears.

In any case, certain players have to have those breakout seasons so the Bears finish better than they have in recent years. Here are five of them.
