Among quarterbacks in the NFL, there are three that I think are under an insane amount of pressure as we get closer to the 2023 season.  The most important position in professional sports is also the one that is typically under the most pressure, shocker.  There are many quarterbacks in the NFL who have a ton at stake in 2023 and beyond, but I think there are three that stand out.

And what’s funny is that all three are at different points in their respective careers.  The NFL is a business and success seems to be required quicker than it has been in prior seasons.  Teams are going above and beyond to try and put together a contending roster as quickly as reasonably possible.

That puts much more on the shoulders of signal callers.  If an NFL team doesn’t have a good QB, they won’t win, period.  Gone are the days when elite defenses can carry the carcass of a washed-up QB deep into the playoffs.

Let’s take a deeper look at the three quarterbacks who are under the most pressure in the 2023 season.

3 QBs under the most pressure entering the 2023 NFL season

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Maybe I’m the only one who thinks this, but I believe that Dak Prescott is under a metric ton of pressure this year.  He’s been the starter since his rookie year in 2016 and has carved out a very nice regular-season career that features two Pro Bowls, a 61-36 record, 24,943 yards, 166 touchdowns, and 65 interceptions.

His 17-game averages are 4,371 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.  However, Prescott and the Cowboys are 2-4 in the playoffs since 2016 and have not made it past the divisional round.  Prescott also hasn’t exactly lit it up in the postseason, either.

Prescott is around the 12th-best QB in the NFL but is an elite passer when he’s at his best.  However, how much more of a leash does he get?  He’s been a starter in the NFL and for the Cowboys for seven years and they really have nothing to show for it.

What happens if the Cowboys again make the playoffs in 2023 but fall short in the Wild Card round?  Do they really keep the machine running with Prescott?  I don’t think so.  I do think that if the Cowboys cannot make a deep playoff run in 2023, Prescott’s future in Dallas will be in huge question.

He’s under a ton of pressure.  He wears the star on his helmet for America’s team and plays the most important position on the roster.  A lot of eyes will be on Prescott.
