Washington Commanders @ Minnesota Vikings

Sunday, December 7th, 1:00 PM ET

The Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings likely came into this season with much different expectations than what they have done. The Commanders are now 3-9 on the season after a dramatic overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. Washington has seen a ton of players missing time this year due to injury, and Jayden Daniels has missed a ton of action, which isn’t ideal.

Daniels seems close to returning to the lineup, though, so that has to be worth something. Washington came within just one game of the Super Bowl last year and are now obviously not going to finish with a winning record, which is a huge regression.

The Minnesota Vikings have to be one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this year. Just last season, this team was 14-3 and riding high with Sam Darnold at the QB position. Well, the Vikings somehow made every single wrong move possible at the most important position in sports.

Darnold left in free agency for the Seattle Seahawks and is playing extremely well. The Vikings also had Daniel Jones on the roster, and he’s playing well this year with the Indianapolis Colts, and JJ McCarthy has truly been a historically bad QB thus far.

It’s hard to believe that the front office botched it this much, but here we are. If Jayden Daniels is back for this game, which is a firm possibility, the Commanders will win this one. If not, I think it’s a lot closer.

The Vikings defense is the best part of this team and does usually show up each week. I am going to take the Commanders in this one, but it’s shaping up to be a sloppy game featuring two bad teams.

Prediction: Commanders win 23-16
