Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Chicago Bears, 8:20 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were somehow able to win a football game in Week 8 without completing a pass. That won't be the case in Week 9, though. The Buccaneers will indeed have to throw the football if they hope to win!
Tampa is still somehow very much alive in the NFC South despite a slow start. Baker Mayfield is back for the team, so, if nothing else, the Bucs have their starting QB back and healthy. The Bucs do run the ball quite well and can play some stout defense, so this game could get interesting.
WIth that said, the way Chicago played in Week 8 has me wondering if we're not taking the Bears seriously enough...? The Bears defense is quite good, and they can also run the ball. We could see the Bears trying to extend drives in hopes that the Bucs can't come out on offense and extend drives of their own.
Chicago has a home-field advantage, and also has advantages with their coaching staff and at QB. This should be a Bears' victory. I don't buy the risk of a trap game for Chicago at all. This team is too well-coached to let that happen.
The Buccaneers are 3-5 and would need to begin stringing some wins together to get back on the right track, and you have to wonder if Todd Bowles' seat is still warm. The Bears are winning here in our Week 9 predictions.
They're a better team across the board and should be able to take care of business at home against a shaky team. Stopping the run is going to be the main priority for Dennis Allen's defense. We're taking the Bears by 14 points, which would get them to 7-2.
