Buffalo Bills @ Minnesota Vikings, 8:15 PM ET
Minnesota Vikings' QB Kyler Murray has an injured hamstring, so he is not a guarantee to play in Week 9, and when you look at how he's played this year, you almost wonder if the Vikings would rather start Carson Wentz, who has been better in his limited action.
Murray's tenure with the Vikings has resulted in a lot of wins thus far, but he just hasn't looked good. The offense might not be a fit despite Murray being a competent player himself. All in all, the Vikings are back to the same issues they have had - inconsistent QB play, but wins still being present.
It puts the team in such an odd spot, in my opinion. The strength of the Vikings is very clearly on the defensive side of the ball. As for the Buffalo Bills, they're the opposite - great on offense, bad on defense. This could end up being one of the more fun games of the year.
Can the Vikings' aggressive defense get the best of a high-powered Bills' offense with Josh Allen leading the way? Can the limp Vikings offense get anything going against a bad Bills' defense? Minnesota is home in this one, so there is one major advantage present.
I would also add that the Vikings have allowed more than 20 points just one time this year. Once!
Minnesota should come in with a slight advantage no matter the QB. We'll predict a mostly low scoring game with the Vikings coming out on top. The Vikings did get bullied a bit by the Lions' offense in Week 8, so I am positive Brian Flores' unit is going to want to flush that down the drain in Week 9.
Buffalo is also very beatable, too - they're coached by Joe Brady, who is in his first year on the job, so they have that natural disadvantage and have looked shaky at times this year. Give me Minnesota by a field goal.
