Houston Texans @ Los Angeles Chargers, 4:05 PM ET

The Houston Texans are coming into this game with a 2-5 record and are in the middle of a shockingly bad year on the defensive side of the ball. Quarterback CJ Stroud, though, has played incredible football this year all things considered and is probably playing his way into a contract extension.

The bright side here is that fixing an NFL defense is much easier than needing to find a franchise QB, so it could be a lot worse. With that being said, Houston probably needs to finish 8-2 and get to 10-7 on the season if they want a chance at getting into the playoffs this year. That might be too tall a task.

Where do we begin with the Los Angeles Chargers? The Chargers continue to be the only winless team in the NFL and just do not do anything right. Not only are the Chargers dealing with a ton of injuries, but the coaching has been among the worst in football. Justin Herbert is also someone who deserves some of the blame, as he's put the ball in harm's way far too often.

Even with Houston only being a two-win team coming into this game, they match up with the Chargers well and did beat them in the regular season last year. Houston is also coming off the bye and probably did a lot of self-scouting on the defensive side of the ball.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans being a former player is also probably going to increase the Texans' chances at figuring things out on defense, and there might not be a better get-right game for a defense than the Chargers' limp offense.

Houston wins this one by multiple touchdowns in Week 9.

Prediction: Texans win 26-10
