Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers, 4:05 PM ET
There is one game in Week 5 that starts in the 4:05 PM ET window, and it’s the Denver Broncos facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers. Both Denver and Los Angeles lost in embarrassing fashion in Week 4.
Let’s start with the Broncos. After two impressive home wins in a row against Jacksonville and the Los Angeles Rams, the Broncos lost by 10 points to the San Francico 49ers, and really didn’t do much of anything well.
This year, the Broncos 2-2 start feels a lot different than how they started 2-2 last year. The running game is among the worst in football, and because of that, the passing attack can’t get going. The defense is also not nearly as good as it’s been, as the absences of Jonathon Cooper and John Franklin-Myers are being felt big-time.
The Broncos are still 2-2, though, despite playing a gauntlet of a schedule to begin the season. The Chargers come into this game having dropped their first four games, and quite literally nothing is working for LA. Nothing.
The roster is banged up, and it wasn’t even an impressive group to begin with. Justin Herbert has looked horrendous this year, and when you consider that there is a new offensive and defensive coordinator, while also adding in injuries and bad QB play, this is what you get.
While divisional games are almost always close and can go either way, the Broncos should view this as a get-right game. They are simply better and more talented than the Chargers. This is a near must-win for the Broncos considering how far they got last year and how much of the roster looks exactly the same.
Denver plays a cleaner game and wins.
