Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans, 1:00 PM ET
This could be a potential future playoff matchup this season, as the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans were both among the best teams in the NFL last year, and both ended up losing in the Divisional Round. The Bills are a well-documented team when it comes to discussing them - we all know Buffalo is going to win a ton of regular season games and should have a great chance to win the AFC East.
But the years-long streak of playoff heartbreaks is a thing, so this offseason, Buffalo did seem to get a bit serious, as they replaced Sean McDermott with Joe Brady and did trade for DJ Moore. These two offensive-focused moves might be the ones that finally get things in a good spot for the postseason.
But the thing is - the offense has never really been the primary issue, so this could be a case of truly wondering what has gone wrong. The Texans come into this game with one of the best rosters in the league and absolutely no excuses not to go far in the playoffs. Houston has also played quite well at home against Buffalo, as this defense has had Josh Allen in some fits.
Allen, while excellent, is also a QB that will put up a 'stinker' about two or three times per season. One of his stinkers in 2026 could absolutely come against the league's best defense, and, overall, the Texans are a flat-out more talented team than the Bills.
This will also be Brady's first game as the Bills' head coach, which is another notable thing to mention. While this should be a close game, as most games in the NFL are, I'm going to go give the nod to the Texans in this one.
Prediction: Houston wins 20-17
