Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles, 4:25 PM ET
Once upon a time, the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles met in the NFC Championship Game during the 2024 season. The Commanders had seen some outstanding play from rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and the Eagles ended up winning it all that year. Well, in 2025, both teams took a notable step back.
Washington won just five games, and while Philly again won the NFC East, they did so with only 11 wins and lost in the Wild Card Round. Both teams are heading into 2026 with some notable question marks all over the place.
The Commanders’ offensive line might just be the worst in the NFL, and the roster talent overall just isn’t that great. You struggle to find where Washington can gain an advantage over their opponents week-to-week.
And as for the Eagles, the offense is going to look a lot different without the presence of AJ Brown, who was traded to the Patriots this offseason. Both Washington and Philly could easily end up missing the playoffs this year.
The Eagles could again struggle on offense, as QB Jalen Hurts is a limited passer, and the Commanders just aren’t a very good team much of anywhere.
With this game being in Philadelphia and the Eagles obviously being the better club right now, it’s not a stretch to think that the Eagles take care of business in this one. While it might not be an entertaining game, the Eagles have won a ton of football in the Nick Sirianni era and will seal the deal here.
The Commanders should have the QB advantage here, but when you take an aerial view of both rosters, the Eagles could overwhelm the Commanders and honestly have this game out of reach rather quickly.
Prediction: Philadelphia wins 20-10
