Minnesota Vikings @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4:05 PM ET
The Minnesota Vikings are suddenly 2-0 and have gotten to this point with Carson Wentz taking a majority of the snaps, as Kyler Murray went down with a concussion in Week 1. The Vikings aren’t a special team or anything, but they are excellent on the defensive side of the ball and got into a rock fight with Chicago in Week 2.
The Vikings are a really interesting team. They just don’t seem to quite despite cycling through a ton of different faces at QB, but at the same time, you don’t ever feel comfortable putting them in that top tier of teams given the dysfunction at QB.
They’re headed to Florida in Week 2 to face Tampa Bay, a team that shockingly lost to Cleveland. The Buccaneers feel like a team without an identity right now, and that’s a huge issue.
If nothing else, while the Vikings aren’t great, they do have an identity and should be able to feast on a struggling Buccaneers offense. An 0-3 start would really have Tampa in a rough spot, even being in the bad NFC South.
The Vikings are good enough to win this game and get to 3-0, which honestly would be a shocking start for this team.
With that being said, we can’t pretend like the Vikings don’t know what they’re doing - they managed to finish with a winning record in 2025 despite having some of the worst QB play in the NFL, and with Wentz and Murray likely both being able to provide, at least, average play at the position, Minnesota could quietly win 10 or 11 games if the defense continues to play well.
Give me the Vikings in this one by four points.
