Detroit Lions @ Carolina Panthers, 8:20 PM ET
This could end up being a bit of a shootout, as neither defense is particularly good in Detroit or Carolina. The Panthers are pretty banged up and don't really wow you much of anywhere. While the Lions might have the worst defense in the league, their high-end offense has kept them in all three games, and they've been able to win two.
The Lions began the 2025 season 7-4 before collapsing down the stretch, finishing jsut 9-8, and missing the playoffs. I really struggle to see how this team misses the playoffs for a second year in a row. They're simply too talented not to make the playoffs... right?
Maybe I'm too optimistic here, but at least four Week 4, this game should be a win. The Lions have the better quarterback by several tiers, and also have the better roster and coaching staff. The defense is going to allow Carolina to get into the end zone, but the offense is going to overwhelm this Panthers' unit, which has underperformed for years now.
Give me the Lions by a touchdown in this one, which gets them to 3-1 on the season.
Prediction: Lions win 30-23
Monday, October 5th
Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints, 8:15 PM ET
You should still be high on the New Orleans Saints this year despite losing a rather ugly game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Tyler Shough is the real deal, as it was honestly his defense that dropped the ball in Week 3.
As for the Atlanta Falcons, they got back on track with a huge win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. I really want to pick the Falcons here, as what we saw against the Pack was rather impressive, but I just can't pick against the Saints in this matchup.
New Orleans has the more established team at the moment and get this game at home. If Week 3 tells us anything, this could be a high-scoring affair, and while the Saints have the better QB, the Falcons do have the better group of offensive personnel.
I am going to give a slight advantage to the Saints here. I think this is a fun team that can win more than you think, and I do trust Kellen Moore to have his team playing some inspired football after an ugly loss. Saints win by one.
Prediction: Saints win 24-23
