When the NFL schedule was released, this was one of those games you circled immediately as a possible Super Bowl preview.
After Week 1, neither of these teams looked like true Super Bowl contenders. In fact, the Rams and Broncos were both embarrassed by the worst possisble teams for their fan bases: Division rivals.
Still, both of these teams showed why they were hyped going into the season with bounce-back wins in Week 2. The Broncos managed to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, stopping one of the hottest teams in the league dating back to last season. The Rams took advantage of a beaten-up Giants team and absolutely crushed New York on Monday Night Football.
It's going to be one of the best matchups of the week, but the Rams are looking shorthanded.
Not only will Myles Garrett not be out there for Los Angeles, but they might be missing Puka Nacua for a second-straight game due to a hip/groin injury. He's not progressing well, according to Sean McVay.
That's obviously welcome news for the Denver Broncos, who can put Pat Surtain II on Davante Adams and let those two face off in a best-on-best matchup. Even after averaging 19.5 yards per target against the Giants, that's a matchup where Denver trusts Surtain.
This game feels like it could go either way. Even with the Rams being shorthanded, they still have enough to beat any team in the NFL, even going on the road to beat a Denver Broncos team that plays fantastic football at home.
The Rams are favored by 2.5 points, but if the Broncos can build on the second half we saw from them against the Jaguars, they're going to be tough to beat playing at home.
Prediction: Broncos win 23-20
