Including the AFC Championship Game, the Denver Broncos only lost four games all of last season. They lost a couple of really close ones against the Colts and Chargers, but one team absolutely blew them out.
The Jacksonville Jaguars.
And we're not talking about the Jaguars catching the Broncos at a bad time, either. Both teams were hot late in the season, and the Jaguars simply made the Broncos look bad. And they did it on the Broncos' home field.
That same Jaguars team that we saw absolutely slicing through the league in the second half of last season, the same Trevor Lawrence that looked like an MVP in the back half of the season, that was the team we saw in Week 1 as the Jaguars absolutely boatraced the Cleveland Browns.
Yes, it was the Cleveland Browns. But what do good teams do to bad teams? They take care of business. They don't play down to their competition. They make bad teams make mistakes. That's what the Jaguars did. The operation looks really solid after Week 1, but going to Denver is always tough, no matter how good you may have played the week before.
And the Broncos are going to be out for some revenge after last season. This will be Denver's home opener, and they're going to be hungry to prove they're a still a powerhouse team in the AFC after an ugly loss on Monday night against Kansas City.
These are two really good teams on paper, but the way the Jaguars executed in Week 1 compared to the way the Broncos executed? It's going to take the Broncos completely flipping the script.
Prediction: Jaguars win 27-23
