Heading into Week 1, if you had looked ahead to this game, you would have said that the Seahawks would simply have to show up to receive their victory.
This had the look of one of those matchups that just so heavily favored one roster over another that the Cardinals didn't stand a chance. And although we'll give the caveat that Week 1 can be a liar for the millionth time, the way Arizona played against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 has at least given us something to think about.
The Cardinals played inspired football, and simultaneously, they showed some really nice things on both sides of the ball in terms of the overall operation. It wasn't like the Chargers put on some sort of disaster class and gifted the Cardinals a win.
Arizona did a great job with their scheme and gameplan on both sides of the ball, especially defensively.
Can they do it again against a Drew Lock-led Seattle Seahawks team?
Seattle won their opener against the New England Patriots with an impressive comeback, and although this is going to seem shocking, it almost feels like the Cardinals present a bigger challenge in the passing game. Can Seattle's secondary dominate again and generate multiple takeaways? Absolutely, they can.
With Lock in the lineup, the Seahawks are just 4.5-point favorites going on the road, and that feels fair given how good that defense was against the Patriots in Week 1. Still, with Lock's history of ball security issues, couldn't you see this game going either way?
We might be looking at the Cardinals having a surprise 2-0 start to the season if they can build on what they did in Week 1.
Prediction: Cardinals win 19-17
