Miami Dolphins (0-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-0)
Sunday, September 20, 4:25 PM ET
If you're in a "survivor" pool this season, this might be the week to pick the 49ers.
The 49ers are back in the United States after completely obliterating the Los Angeles Rams in Australia, and this game has the biggest spread of any on the schedule in Week 2.
The 49ers are opening this game as massive 12.5-point favorites, and justifiably so. The Dolphins got beat by the Raiders in Week 1 pretty handily, and the 49ers are obviously a much better overall team. You can never overlook an opponent in the NFL, but with the Dolphins traveling out to the West Coast as well, this one is shaping up to be a stat-padding 49ers victory.
What we saw from the 49ers in Week 1 was as impressive as anything we saw around the league. The way they handled the Rams' defensive front in dominating fashion, the fact that Brock Purdy played MVP-caliber football, and this team generally being much better than they have been given credit were all on display.
Kyle Shanahan is one of the game's best coaches, and the Dolphins are still in the process of trying to figure things out.
This one is likely to get out of hand early on, and I don't see the 49ers taking their foot off the gas. It would be a surprise if we didn't see Mac Jones at some point in this one.
Prediction: 49ers win 38-9
