The Bears and Vikings combined for a whopping 98 points in Week 1.
This is going to be such a fascinating matchup, starting with the Minnesota Vikings, whose explosion of 39 points against the Green Bay Packers was one of the most unexpected developments in all of Week 1.
The Vikings lost Kyler Murray to a concussion early against the Packers, so it wouldn't be shocking if Carson Wentz was the starter for this game against Chicago. And considering the Bears' defense just allowed 37 points to the Carolina Panthers, it also wouldn't be shocking if this game ended up being another shootout.
Who is going to stop Justin Jefferson on that Chicago defense? Jefferson looks like a man possessed to begin this season.
On the other side, it's going to be fascinating to see how Caleb Williams does against a Vikings defense that absolutely obliterated and embarrassed the Green Bay Packers' offensive line. Caleb Williams was dialed in during Week 1 to the point that Chicago put up 59 points without much involvement at all from Rome Odunze or Colston Loveland.
In fact, Loveland didn't have a single reception.
The Bears are playing this game at home and are early 5.5-point favorites. Are they going to be able to hang 50 on the Vikings like they did the Panthers? I don't see that happening, but as well as Brian Flores's defense played in the second half against Green Bay, it still feels like this one is destined for a shootout.
Prediction: Bears win 34-26
