Who could have possibly thought that this would end up being perhaps the most intriguing matchup in Week 4?
The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the best stories of the 2026 season so far, and while I run this metaphor into the ground, they really don’t have the feel of a Cinderella story that’s going to see the clock strike midnight anytime soon.
What we’re seeing from the Raiders in Klint Kubia’s first year as head coach looks genuinely sustainable, although we’ve been fooled by hot starts in the past. The Raiders have been extremely balanced offensively. Kirk Cousins has 9 touchdown passes already this season, and he’s only had one game (out of three) with Brock Bowers in the lineup.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, are looking like they’re all the way back. The addition of Kenneth Walker has rejuvenated a running game that was non-existent the past couple of seasons. Patrick Mahomes looks reborn after his injury.
This is going to be a really fascinating matchup, because the Raiders have not played a lot of high-stakes games in recent years, and the atmosphere in Las Vegas is going to be supercharged unlike pretty much any other time since the Raiders relocated to Las Vegas.
The Chiefs are opening up as pretty hefty 4.5-point favorites at home, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Raiders continue their special start to the season.
Prediction: Raiders win 26-23
