New England Patriots (1-2) @ Buffalo Bills (3-0)

It felt like Week 3 was the shot to beat the Buffalo Bills playing at home, and the Chargers missed the window.
I’m not liking the New England Patriots’ chances at all to go into Buffalo in Week 4 and pull off an upset, but you sort of have to throw what we’ve seen so far this season out the window – to a point – when it comes to divisional matchups.
The Bills have obviously been a force through three games. Even in a game in which they had five turnovers, they managed to beat the Chargers by 8. That speaks to this team’s absolutely ridiculous margin for error right now, which is something the New England Patriots absolutely do not have.
And weird things happen in the NFL when teams have their backs up against the wall.
The Patriots have been the league’s biggest disappointment through three games. At least, they’ve been arguably the biggest disappointment. Their 20-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 felt more like a blip on the radar, given how poorly that offense (and more specifically, Drake Maye) has played so far this season.
Given what we’ve seen from Maye in the first month of the season, how are we supposed to expect him to just bounce back in this type of game? On the road against Josh Allen and the Bills?
The Patriots are rightfully 7-point underdogs in this game. After getting blown out on the road against the Jaguars in Week 3, there is some serious soul-searching to be done in New England.
Will this finally be the week that it starts clicking again for Drake Maye and the offense, or will the Bills kick their division rivals while they’re down? Part of me wants to pick a Patriots upset here, just because the Bills are going to be unanimously picked to win, and we have seen how that works out. Part of me thinks there’s absolutely no shot it happens.
Patriots fans, just know that I initially went with New England to pull off an upset, filing it in the “just because” category. But I’m chickening out.
Prediction: Bills win 29-27
