Los Angeles Chargers (0-6) @ Los Angeles Rams (3-4)
Sunday, November 1, 4:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Rams got back on track with a great all-around performance in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Wouldn’t it be just like them (this season, at least) to lose the very next game against the winless Los Angeles Chargers?
Like I said earlier, I’m a big believer in streaks getting snapped, for better or worse. The Chargers are 0-6 to start this season, but it’s not like they’ve gotten absolutely blown out every single game. They are coming off a bye week, potentially getting at least a little bit healthier, and they are technically going to be playing at home for this one.
I’m not writing off the winless Chargers, even in a matchup like this. The Rams are also beaten up on both sides of the ball. The talent gap was too significant against the Raiders, but we’re going to find out if the Rams reminded themselves who they are, or simply caught a terrible defense at exactly the right time.
The Chargers are 6.5-point underdogs in this one, and that’s reasonable. They haven’t been good this season, and while Justin Herbert isn’t getting much help from his supporting cast, he’s also played poorly on top of it all.Â
I don’t want to get caught up too much in the idea that the Chargers are going to get their first win of the season at some point, and simply predict them to win every single week in anticipation of them getting off the schnide, but they may have a shot here.Â
I’m going with the upset pick and taking a risk.Â
Prediction: Chargers win 29-28
