Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) @ Denver Broncos (5-2)
Sunday, November 1, 4:25 PM ET
The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs faced off against each other in Week 1 of the 2026 season, and it wasn’t pretty.
For the Broncos, that is.
The Broncos missed nearly 30 percent of their tackle attempts in that game, and the Kansas City Comeback Train started chugging along.
It’s been an impressive turnaround for the Broncos from that point, as they have won 5 of their last 6 games since getting destroyed by the Chiefs. Most importantly for the Broncos, the defense has gotten back on track and took all those missed tackles personal. They have been the heart and soul of this team, and they continue to be exactly that.
The offense got on track against the Arizona Cardinals as well. Denver’s offense faced an absolute gauntlet to start the season defensively, and they somewhat predictably struggled. They took some steps in the right direction against the Arizona Cardinals, and they’ll need to keep making those types of strides if they are going to beat the Chiefs in a pivotal division matchup.
Kansas City has leaned heavily on Kenneth Walker this season, and justifiably so. He’s been the hardest player in the NFL to tackle, and he’s brought a playmaking ability to that Kansas City backfield that simply hasn’t existed in the Patrick Mahomes era.
Walker was completely shut down as the Chiefs didn’t have even a single red zone appearance against the Seahawks on Sunday night. It was easily their worst offensive output of the season, going up against a truly elite defense. The Broncos know all about how tough that Seattle defense is.
The Broncos still have that first game in Kansas City fresh on their minds. They are going to be out for revenge, and they are extremely tough to beat at home.
Prediction: Broncos win 24-20
