Baltimore Ravens (4-3) @ Buffalo Bills (5-1)
Sunday, November 1, 1:00 PM ET
We’re not wasting any time on Sunday getting right down to business, are we?
This might be the best game of the week, and one of the most intriguing matchups with some pretty significant consequences no matter which way it ends up going.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off a bye week. Up to this point in the 2026 season, we simply haven’t seen the Bills playing at a championship level defensively, but the team is still 5-1 and looking like one of the best overall operations in the NFL.
They’ve had some close calls, for sure, but at what point will the defense put too much pressure on Josh Allen, and it causes him to feel like he has to do too much in order to win games? We’ve seen that happen to Allen in the past. The burden of responsibility will cost him in the decision-making process.
All of that to say this: The Bills need to be better defensively coming out of the bye. There will be a lot of pressure on rookie DC Jim Leonhard, and he might have the privilege of going up against old friend Declan Doyle (from their days on the Broncos’ staff together) with Lamar Jackson under center.
We can’t make any guarantees with that, because Jackson has missed significant time already this season, but he was ramping up last week, and perhaps the Ravens will finally bring him back in Week 8.
The oddsmakers seem to think there’s at least a good chance of that happening, because the Bills are just 3.5-point home favorites.
Even if Lamar is in the mix, I’m taking the Bills at home, coming off their bye, and that defense rebounding in the process.
Prediction: Bills win 27-24
