Disappoint: Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers

Sure, Pittsburgh Steelers fans might be excited with the duo of Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers, but the harsh truth of the situation is that Rodgers wasn't a good QB last year and is now a year older. He turns 43 years old this season, and last year, the Steelers didn't do anything particularly well on offense, which is a problem.

Quarterbacks also don't typically get better with age, especially when they've been in a slow decline for years now like Rodgers is. Yes, Rodgers is a competent player, but the Steelers offense lacked the necessary juice to be effective, and Rodgers just doesn't have the arm talent or off-schedule ability he had earlier in his career.

Given his age and the rather average supporting cast surrounding him for 2026, Rodgers is primed to disappoint in his final season.

Disappoint: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

For the first time since the 2021 NFL Season, Jalen Hurts no longer has AJ Brown on his side, and that's going to be a huge loss. Brown was one of the more physically dominant wide receivers in the NFL during his time with the Eagles, and with his presence gone, Hurts is going to be asked to do more as a passer.

The issue here, though, is that Hurts wasn't that special of a thrower even with Brown in the mix. Hurts does struggle to process and play on time and does take more sacks than you'd like. With one of his two No. 1 receivers now gone, and the Eagles having yet another new offensive coordinator, there just isn't a lot to look at that makes you optimistic about Hurts' chances this year.

Sure, he's not a bad quarterback, and can make up for certain things with his rushing ability, but his path to be an efficient passer this year doesn't seem clear.

Disappoint: Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

Daniel Jones is coming off another major injury, and even during his breakout 2025 season with the Indianapolis Colts, we began to see some cracks in the foundation leading up to his injury. Michael Pittman Jr is also no longer in the picture, and it does feel like the Colts are again restarting this thing as of 2025 didn't even happen, as the team began the year 7-1 but won just one more game after that.

There is now also a year of film out on the Jones-led Colts offense from 2025, so the odds that the veteran QB captures some of that first-half 2025 magic feels low.
