Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns will start either Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson in 2026, and I'm not sure it'd be a shock if both players started a ton. For the Browns, the Watson trade has continued to set this franchise back for years, as he's not only been horrendous during his time with the Browns, but one could argue that this will go down as the worst trade in sports history.
Sanders doesn't appear to be a much better, option, either, and with the Browns actually having some nice offensive talent, this team might truly be a quarterback away from at least being competent. The thing here, though, is that not only do the Browns not have a franchise QB, but they might have one of the worst QB rooms we've seen this century.
Trading Myles Garrett is also a clear indicator this team has their sights set on the future.
Tennessee Titans
I am a fan of what the Tennessee Titans have done this offseason, and I'm not sure I can hype up the Brian Daboll-offensive coordinator hiring anymore than I have. The Titans are going to be a force in the future, but not only is Cam Ward still not guaranteed to take a step forward, but the roster is still another year away. The AFC is also loaded with other younger quarterbacks who have developed, so 2026 is simply not going to be a playoff year.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders landed Fernando Mendoza in the 2026 NFL Draft, and while the team did add considerable amounts of talent this offseason, the offense is still a work in progress, especially at wide receiver, and Kirk Cousins likely getting the starting nod in 2026 does kind of prove this team is wanting to begin to put things together in 2027 and take Mendoza's development slow and steady.
