5. Seattle Seahawks
The Seatte Seahawks definitely got overtaken by the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. The Rams added a duo of starting cornerbacks in Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, and they also swung a major deal for Myles Garrett.
LA already finished with the best scoring offense in the NFL last year and just shored up the defense. They are the most complete team in football. Seattle, while still a juggernaut, did lose some players in the offseason during free agency.
And given how hard it is to consistently win in this league, the Seahawks could be primed to take a step back in 2026. Seattle beat opponents in blowout fashion constantly in 2025, which simply isn't sustainable, and with the Rams lurking in the NFC West and ready to spring to the top, Seattle is suddenly staring at a Wild Card berth in 2026.
Still, though, getting into the playoffs in the NFC would be a major accomplishment, and with how stellar the coaching staff is and how strong the roster still is overall, the playoffs are a virtual lock.
4. New Orleans Saints
I am going to ride with the New Orleans Saints in 2026 to win the NFC South. They won four of five games to end the 2025 season. Tyler Shough played quite well, and the Saints did give him some new weapons in the offseason in Travis Etienne and Jordyn Tyson, along with more protection up front with guard David Edwards.
The Saints also have a defense flying under the radar and enough talent to scrape together 9 or 10 wins and secure the division title. While the Saints seemed to be a team that no one really looked at as a legitimate playoff team, these past two seasons have been rather encouraging.
New Orleans won't be a juggernaut, but they'll take a sizeable step forward this year.
