NFC Championship Game

(2) Detroit Lions @ (1) Los Angeles Rams

This would be a fun game, and not just because we could be watching the two best offenses in the NFL square off in one of the final games of the season. Way back in 2021, the Lions and Rams swung a major deal involving Goff and Matthew Stafford. The Rams wanted to upgrade at the position, and decided that Stafford was the guy they wanted.

The Lions acquired Goff and draft picks back from the Rams for Stafford, and while the Lions have emerged as one of the more talented teams in the NFL, largely due to that trade, the Rams did win the Super Bowl in Stafford's first year with the team.

Stafford himself may have also shored up his future bid into the Hall of Fame with the MVP he won. Sure, the Lions might be the better team for the long-term, as Goff is a bit younger than Stafford, but the Rams have won this trade.

And in this scenario, if our prediction comes true, I am not sure the Lions would have enough in this one. Goff owns a 4-5 playoff record with an 85.1 passer rating, so he just has not played that well in the postseason.

Stafford owns a 7-3 playoff record just with the Rams and has thrown 25 touchdowns against just seven interceptions in his playoff career, which also spanned a few seasons with the Lions. Stafford owns a 104.4 passer rating in the playoffs with the Rams, so he's been consistently awesome in the biggest moments.

And in these type of games, the QB that plays the best is usually on the winning side. Give me the Rams in what could turn out to be a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair.

Prediction: Rams win
