Some are more attainable records than others.

Indianapolis Colts - career rushing yards

Perhaps this achievement is better saved for next season, but who knows with Jonathan Taylor. The veteran running back has a career-high of 1,811 yards. Additionally, he has flirted with the mark he has to beat in order to set the Indianapolis Colts’ career rushing yards record, 1,629, in each of the last two seasons; with a little extra motivation of becoming a franchise stat leader (again, as Taylor set the rushing touchdowns record in 2025), maybe he is able to surpass the mark this season.

Houston Texans - career interceptions

Yes, defense is respected around these parts as well, even though it was a category overlooked for T.J. Watt. That said, there were several avenues for the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is realistically only one for the Houston Texans.

That route is career interceptions. Talking about this statistic is kind of wild considering Derek Stingley is only heading into year 5 in the NFL, but he has been an elite cornerback since coming in. The mark Stingley needs to reach in order to break the record this year is three interceptions; considering he has had four or more over the previous three years, it feels like a somewhat likely franchise record to be broken compared to others mentioned so far.

Jacksonville Jaguars - Single-season passing yards

We have been here before with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence has a great year under an offensive-minded head coach. Maybe this time under Liam Coen will be different than with Doug Pederson.

One thing that cannot be in dispute is the tear that Lawrence ended the 2025 campaign on. During the final seven games of last season, the Jaguars quarterback finished the season throwing for 265 yards per game (not including the playoffs). If that pace continues for an entire 17-game season, he will pass for 4,505 yards this year, which would just break the franchise record of 4,428.

Tennessee Titans - rookie receptions

Is this a case of high expectations for Carnell Tate upon entering the NFL? Absolutely; however, he has shown his ability to perform as a top receiver in terms of targets this preseason. In order to break the rookie receptions record, Tate would need to record 73 catches this year; if he is peppered with targets as he has been so far, this is a possible record to break.
