Arizona Cardinals - career rushing touchdowns
The Arizona Cardinals have a mess to sort out for its running back room. The team drafted Jeremiyah Love, brought in Tyler Allgeier in free agency and extended James Conner this offseason. Given what the preseason provided us with, the Cardinals might be as lost as watchers are with the pecking order in that room.
One thing is for certain: Conner is on the cusp of setting a franchise record in Arizona for the most rushing touchdowns for the team. If he breaks it, the veteran running back will have scored nine or more of that type of touchdown. Conner has not done that since the 2021 season, his first as a Cardinal, but it is a number he has hit twice in his career; it will be difficult to do as he begins the season on injured reserve.
Los Angeles Rams - career passing touchdowns
It does not feel like it has been that long, but quarterback Matthew Stafford has been with the Los Angeles Rams for six seasons now. As such, he is approaching multiple passing records for the team. The most likely one to give way this season is the career passing touchdowns statistic.
Stafford stands 14 passing touchdowns from etching his name into Rams history. The number 14 in that category is one that the veteran quarterback has reached in every year except 2022 in Los Angeles. That season, Stafford only played in nine games.
San Francisco 49ers - career forced fumbles
This is, perhaps, the easiest prediction that there is to make for any team this season. Fred Warner needs ONE forced fumble to set the franchise record for the San Francisco 49ers. For context, the veteran linebacker has had at least one forced fumble in each season he has played in, and he only played in six games last year.
Seattle Seahawks - career receiving touchdowns by a tight end
I can feel the majority of people reading this asking who the Seattle Seahawks even have at tight end. Fair enough. This upcoming season is only year three for AJ Barner in the NFL.
To recap, a junior-year player in the league could set the career receiving touchdowns record for a tight end in Seattle. That feels extraordinary, but Barner has had an increased role in the offense each year. His career-high in receiving touchdowns stands at six, and he needs nine this year to break the record; keep in mind that the tight end has increased his number of touchdown catches each year, and it feels possible for Barner to write his name into Seahawks lore incredibly early in his career.
