Ty Simpson

The Los Angeles Rams made a pick for the future with Ty Simpson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. That said, we know the pecking order for the Rams, at least for this year, and Simpson is below Stetson Bennett, who saw some playing time in Australia, meaning Simpson likely will not see the field during the 2026 season. With that being the case, it feels like a safer bet to say Simpson will see the field as a starter later rather than sooner.

Prediction: Maybe in 2027

Carson Beck

The Arizona Cardinals are still running the Jacoby Brissett experiment, but no one really knows for how much longer. With the Cardinals sitting at 2-5 and Brissett being harder to watch with each passing week, the streak of him starting games in Arizona could come to an end soon. With that said, there is a world in which Gardner Minshew is put into the lineup over Carson Beck, seeing as the rookie quarterback is the designated third quarterback in Arizona.

However, much like in the preseason, my stance remains unchanged. The Cardinals have set themselves up in a good position for the upcoming draft for a top-end quarterback pick. Before we get to that point in the NFL calendar, the Cardinals will want to see what they have in Beck to see what they have in him before finalizing any draft plans, and the final month of the season looks incredible to do exactly that.

Prediction: Week 15

Cole Payton

Now, Cole Payton is not the most notable quarterback that could have been named in the final spot of the article compared to guys like Drew Allar, but there is a more realistic shot of Payton seeing the field in 2026 compared to other rookie quarterbacks, given the status of the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback room. As we know, the Eagles are going to be without Jalen Hurts for the remainder of the season, and potentially beyond, depending on how his recovery from the blood clot goes. As such, Tanner McKee is currently the starting quarterback.

While McKee is not a bad quarterback, he is far from a good one. As such, it is entirely possible that the Eagles bench him at some point this season. The question would become: Who is the new starting quarterback in Philadelphia?

Well, it is a 50-50 chance to be Cole Payton, with the other side of the coin being Joe Milton. Considering the rookie quarterback is the emergency third guy on game days, it would likely be Milton. However, there is a chance that Payton sees the field at some point in the 2026 campaign with the team seemingly being content going nowhere this year.

Prediction: Week 18
