3. Von Miller moving up the top 10 leaderboard in career sacks
One of the newest defensive additions on the Dallas Cowboys, Von Miller, can climb a long way on the sack leaderboard this season, as there is a pile-up in the top-10 of that statistic. Miller is currently tied for the 10th most sacks in league history with former Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware, with 138.5 sacks. In Week 1, he can move up into the eighth most ever with a half sack, tying him with Terrell Suggs.
However, that is not the only movement on the all-time sack board that Miller can accomplish this week. With a full sack, the veteran pass rusher would move into a tie for the seventh most ever with Jason Taylor at 139.5. With one-and-a-half sacks on Sunday night, Miller would claim the seventh spot all to himself.
In other words, there could be a lot of mentions for Miller, especially early on in the season, depending on how quickly he reaches these milestones.
2. Los Angeles Chargers career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback record
You never know with rushing touchdowns at the quarterback position. Sometimes there is a plan for a guy to run one in; other times it just happens. That said, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert can set the franchise record for the most rushing touchdowns at the quarterback position in year six of his career.
Currently, the signal-caller is tied in that statistic with a pair of former Chargers. Both Jack Kemp and John Hadl have the same number of rushing touchdowns at the quarterback position, 15, for the organization. All Herbert needs to do is find his way into the end zone one time, and he will hold that franchise record all to himself with 16 and counting.
