Indianapolis Colts: 8

Taking the Kansas City Chiefs into overtime at Arrowhead is at least a moral victory, right? Well, I guess you could argue that, but it's not been pretty thus far for the Indianapolis Colts, and we're approaching a point in time where you almost wonder if some major changes are about to take place.

Indy got blown out in Week 1 by the Baltimore Ravens but did play a lot better on offense and were able to hang with the Chiefs. That isn't nothing, but a loss is still a loss no matter how it looks. As we all know, the main issue with the Colts has been the insane turnover at the most important position in sports.

General Manager Chris Ballard hasn't really come close to fixing the quaterback issue. While Daniel Jones hasn't been bad for the Colts thus far, he's not been good enough to have this team consistently winning.

And now, the roster is flawed. The one thing that seemed to go in Ballard's favor was his ability to at least adequately build out the rest of the roster, but there are some weak spots.

At this point, I personally struggle to see how there isn't major change coming unless the Colts are magically able to flip a switch and turn this thing around. Ballard is in his 10th year on the job and owns a 70-80-1 record with two playoff appearances. He has just four winning seasons in his tenure as well.

The Colts just don't scare anyone and are honestly pretty irrelevant. They're not quite bad enough to be among the absolute worst in the league, but they're not close to being good enough to hang with the best squads.

I have called this tier the 'irrelevant middle,' and you could argue that it's the worst spot for a team to be in.
