Bad
There is no introduction necessary for the bad tier, but we will do one anyway. The relief quarterback play was flat-out bad. The offense actively got worse when this guy entered the game, and his play was a contributing factor to that.
Tyson Bagent
What happened to Bagent after he got his extension? He saw action in three games this season, starting two of them, and all you really need to know is he threw three interceptions during his playing time. Additionally, Bagent only threw for 409 yards during that time.
Nothing about his play this season has been anything resembling competent quarterback play. In fact, the third-string guy for the Chicago Bears, who we will discuss later, played significantly better than Bagent, making his lack of production even more stark by comparison.
Rookie
This tier is reserved for rookies, obviously. That said, not every rookie is going to be on this tier. This will be a look at the rookies who looked like rookies whenever they got into the games they played in; meanwhile, other rookies who showed better tendencies will be in a higher tier due to what they have shown so far this season.
Jack Strand
Another Atlanta Falcons quarterback, another lackluster position on the tiers. Jack Strand came into the game for Cooper Rush in Week 2 of the NFL season and looked a hint better than the veteran quarterback. That said, Strand did not look good by any means, as he had an interception and threw for a hair over a 50 percent completion rate.
Athan Kaliakmanis
Coming in for the Washington Commanders in the team’s London game, Athan Kaliakmanis looked good at points but had a rookie mindset as he tried to pull his team back into the game. Kaliakmanis had a beautiful deep ball for a touchdown to Treylon Burks, which is the good portion. The bad is that the rookie quarterback went back to the well almost every other play after that; it felt like he could not help himself from throwing it deep, displaying a rookie tendency of trying to get everything back in one play, which typically does not end well in the NFL.
