7. Houston Texans (2-5)
The Houston Texans might be one of the most talented football teams in NFL history to pick inside the top-10 of an NFL Draft at this point. Even with CJ Stroud playing like one of the 10 best QBs in football, the Texans defense has totally derailed what should be an awesome season. The offensive line and run game have also suffered this year.
Overall, I am not sure many expecetd any sort of regression. In fact, we probably all could have agreed that Houston being 5-2, and not 2-5 would be the most likely scenario thus far.
8. New Orleans Saints (2-5)
The New Orleans Saints do appear to have their QB of the future in Tyler Shough, but the defense has underwhelmed this year, and injuries have really limited what this team can do on the ground. The Saints are still, somehow, well within range in the NFC South, but that should not take away from the big picture - this team needs some defensive help and honestly better roster health as well.
9. Washington Commanders (2-4-1)
The Washington Commanders are now 2-4-1 on the season and would currently pick ninth in the 2027 NFL Draft. The Commanders appear to have their QB of the future in Jayden Daniels, but this is another year where injuries and poor coaching are impacting things. The roster itself also isn't that special, as it's not really where what the front office has done exceptionally well outside of landing Daniels, who is an injury-prone player.
10. New York Jets (2-6, via DAL)
Hey, it's the Jets again! With three picks in the first 10 selections, the Jets are sitting on a gold mine right now. It'll be interesting to see how this coming offseason goes for the Jets, as they clearly need a coaching change and might have a legitimate chance to alter the course of their franchise for the better.
