25. Detroit Lions: Kelley Jones, CB, Mississippi State

The Detroit Lions’ strategy for the entire 2027 offseason is going to be very simple, and it has everything to do with fixing their defense.

For this Detroit team, it starts with figuring out the secondary.

Obviously, we’ll see how Brian Branch does in his return from injury as the season goes along, but the cornerback position is in shambles. This team ranks dead last (32nd) in passing yards allowed so far this season.

Kelley Jones is a long cornerback with rare size at 6-foot-4, but that can serve him well in contested catch situations.

26. New York Giants: David Stone, DL, Oklahoma

Not to be a skeptic (hey, I love Jameis Winston as much as the next guy), but we might be seeing the New York Giants start to creep back up the NFL Draft board as the season goes along. They’re not passing the eye test to this degree.

Regardless if the Giants end up picking early or late, they should have some interest in the top defensive line prospects in this upcoming class.

They used Dexter Lawrence to trade for the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and they were able to address their offensive line with the Francis Mauigoa pick. But to fill one hole, they created another. They need more playmakers on the IDL.

27. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jadan Baugh, RB, Florida

To see the Jacksonville Jaguars get Jadan Baugh, keeping him in the state of Florida, would almost be too good to be true.

Bhayshul Tuten has actually been great so far this season, and the Jaguars have done a really good job of replacing their most important departed free agents (Travis Etienne, Devin Lloyd). I’m sorry for doubting you.

Still, even with Tuten playing really well, giving yourself the option of this type of two-headed monster with Baugh’s physicality and ability to create yardage after contact? You make that move in a Super Bowl window.

28. Buffalo Bills: Tae Johnson, SAF, Notre Dame

Oh look – another 2027 NFL mock draft with the Buffalo Bills taking a safety!

This has become almost a tradition at this point. But maybe the Bills should actually, you know, draft a safety.

This would be the draft to do it. There are a ton of playmakers at the position in college football right now, and Notre Dame’s Tae Johnson is one of them. He’s got fantastic range and closing speed at the position, and Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard – a former safety himself – will love him.
