Vegas took Fernando Mendoza with the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and while it's going to likely take weeks for Mendoza to even see the field, his pocket-first style of play could fit him in the tier of current and former QBs like Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Matt Ryan, even.
He plays that style of football and is also close in size to Josh Allen, which is almost hard to believe. With that said, the Raiders wide receiver room may easily be the worst in the sport right now, and with the team already having two likely long-term foundational pieces in Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers on offense, snagging the best WR in the country feels like a slam-dunk decision not even the Raiders could mess up.
This would suddenly position the team with a young, encouraging offense for 2027 and beyond.
