25. Detroit Lions: Ashton Hampton, CB, Clemson
Nobody needs cornerbacks as badly as the Detroit Lions need cornerbacks.
Even if you don't consider the Terrion Arnold situation from earlier this offseason, the Lions had issues at cornerback that needed to be addressed. Rock Ya-Sin is in line to start for them this season, and that really says it all.
After having just one interception all of last season, he had an interception in the season opener against Clemson, solidifying himself as one of the top cornerback prospects to watch this coming season.
26. Houston Texans: Kewan Lacy, RB, Ole Miss
The Houston Texans have become my go-to team for the flavor of the week at running back in 2027 NFL mock drafts, but they make a ton of sense as a landing spot there.
David Montgomery isn't a long-term solution at the position. We'll see what this year brings for Woody Marks, even though I'm high on him as a pass-catching back. They still wouldn't be able to deny the appeal of a playmaker like Kewan Lacy in this pick slot.
He is one of the top home run hitters at running back in all of college football, and his explosiveness will be coveted by NFL teams.
27. Kansas City Chiefs: Nick Marsh, WR, Indiana
The Kansas City Chiefs will absolutely be in the offensive tackle market (again) in this draft class, but wide receiver might be a close second behind that.
Even with the high draft investments they've made in guys like Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice, it isn't looking like those two are going to be able to be reliable go-to options for Patrick Mahomes in the long term. Someone like Nick Marsh breaking out at Indiana this year would be huge for a team like the Chiefs.
The 6-foot-3 Michigan State transfer showed off strong hands and body control in his first game with the Hoosiers.
28. Seattle Seahawks: Chris Cole, LB, Georgia
Chris Cole has the look of a prototype linebacker for Mike Macdonald's defense with the Seahawks. Starters Ernest Jones IV and Drake Thomas will be entering contract years in 2027, so the Seahawks might be doing some forward thinking at the position.
Cole is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, and has elite athletic traits. He showed off his upside last season with 7 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, but the progression we saw in Week 1 was eye-opening.
He an rush the passer, he can play off the ball, and he has outstanding range. He might have a Jalon Walker-like progression splitting time playing off the ball and coming off the edge.
