5. New York Jets: Darian Mensah, QB, Miami
The New York Jets have three first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft as of this moment in time, and they might want to consider -- at some point -- using one of those on a veteran player to help this team. But they will reserve the most valuable of their selections for the quarterback position.
Right now, there are so many different opinions about the top QB prospects behind Arch Manning and Dante Moore in this draft. Some like Darian Mensah better than either/both. Some like CJ Carr. Some like Julian Sayin. Some have others on the list. If the Jets are picking this high, the quarterback position will be in focus regardless.
6. Washington Commanders: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
There will be some really interesting and uncomfortable conversations about the Washington Commanders and the quarterback position if they finish with the 6th-worst record in the NFL. We made sure not to put them in the 5th overall slot for this mock draft, and hopefully those efforts are appreciated.
All kidding aside, there will be a lot of fun conversations this season about the top defensive players in this class, and Leonard Moore has a chance to the the best of a very talented group. He's got future CB1 written all over him.
7. New York Giants: Cam Coleman, WR, Texas
The Giants might need to use every pick of their 2027 NFL Draft class on the offensive line if Jaxson Dart keeps taking big hits in the preseason. To be fair, the biggest hit he took was the result of a complete whiff by a running back in pass protection, but still.
Protecting the investment in Dart is essential, so the Giants might look there, even after taking Francis Mauigoa in the 1st round of the 2026 NFL Draft. But if Cam Coleman is on the board? Pairing him up with Malik Nabers as Dart's top two weapons for the future would be absolutely phenomenal.
8. Tennessee Titans: Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina
If I were a betting man, I would have lost a lot of money when the Tennessee Titans took Carnell Tate with the 4th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Although we spend a lot of time exploring every possibility, the Titans taking something other than a pass rusher with their top pick in this year's draft felt far-fetched.
Here we are.
Now, they might have a chance to go after a couple of truly elite, blue-chip prospects with both Dylan Stewart and Colin Simmons in this upcoming class. Robert Saleh would probably be ecstatic about the possibility of adding either player.
