5. New York Jets: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
The New York Jets have three first-round picks to work with in the 2027 NFL Draft, so they have some serious flexibility here.
Yes, the quarterback position will likely have to be their primary goal, but with three picks, you can play the game a little bit more than normal. This looks like a pretty deep QB class, but if the Jets have to watch two other players at the position come off the board, they would need serious conviction on a player to take him over Leonard Moore, who looks like a true blue-chip prospect at the CB position.
6. Carolina Panthers: Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina
After watching the Carolina Panthers give up over 500 yards of offense and 59 points to the Chicago Bears in Week 1, it seems like the smart direction for them early in the 2027 NFL Draft is simply on the defensive side of the ball.
Whoever ends up being the best defensive player on the board for the Panthers, that's who needs to be the pick here.
In this case, they end up getting to go with a local prospect who is a nightmare off the edge. Dylan Stewart has a fun combination of length, explosiveness, and effort to give the Panthers a potential star pass rusher.
7. Las Vegas Raiders: Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana
The Las Vegas Raiders have been a frequent destination in early 2027 NFL Mock Draft predictions for top wide receiver prospects. Most of the time, we're looking at scenarios with Jeremiah Smith going to the Raiders, or even Texas's Cam Coleman.
But how about the idea of Fernando Mendoza getting Charlie Becker as his top receiver for what would potentially be his first full season as the starting QB in Vegas? After these two were teammates in Bloomington, they reunite in Vegas. Becker is already having a huge season even with Mendoza off to the NFL.
8. Arizona Cardinals: Darian Mensah, QB, Miami
The Arizona Cardinals used a 3rd-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Miami transfer quarterback Carson Beck, and here they go right back to the Hurricanes well in the 1st round at the position.
Until we see starting qualities from Beck, the long-term future of the Cardinals' QB position remains a major question mark. And the upside of Darian Mensah is also a question mark, despite his outstanding start this season for Miami.
Mensah has been accurate and on time with the football, but does he have the arm talent to be a top-10 NFL Draft pick? That is the big question some in the NFL Draft community are asking right now.
